2026 Summer Handwriting Classes
2:00pm- 3:00pm Saline First United Methodist Church, Educational Wing
Join me for this 3-week, 6-session sensorimotor-based handwriting class for students entering 4th and 5th Grade! We will review the rules for good handwriting, talk about positioning, practice getting our bodies ready for writing with exercises that target not just the hand muscles, but the postural and shoulder muscles as well, and focus on increasing our stamina for writing at the paragraph level! Students will start to learn the value of handwriting, as well as improve their sense of self-efficacy for writing.
Please note: This group will NOT focus on cursive instruction, but on standard printing.
11:30am-12:30pm, Saline First United Methodist Church, Educational Wing

12:45pm-1:45pm Saline First United Methodist Church, Educational Wing
Join me for this 3-week, 6-session sensorimotor-based handwriting class for students entering 2nd and 3rd Grade! We will do a whole body warm-up with shoulder and postural strengthening exercises, review efficient letter formation, and practice writing legibly but quickly (the fancy word for this is "handwriting automaticity"). Your student will leave more confident than ever in their handwriting!
3:10pm- 4:00pm Saline First United Methodist Church, Educational Wing
The aim of this group is to show Middle Schoolers the value of handwriting within the context of journaling. Different journaling techniques will be explored, and we will discuss the different purposes of journaling (e.g., maintaining mental wellbeing, processing difficult emotions/events, and developing executive functioning/organization skills). Paired with movement-based self-regulation techniques, students will be developing a new strategy for their own mental health while also practicing handwriting in a meaningful way!
Please note: This should not be considered a substitute for mental health services.
A tailored sensory needs plan for family adventures.
Sensory processing differences don’t have to stand in the way of your family enjoying special trips, outings, and events together. Let me help you navigate the barriers between your child and the happy memories that are waiting to be made! I provide sensory coaching services nationwide to support families of toddlers, children, young adults, and adults with sensory processing disorder. Once we identify the strategies that work at home in daily life, we can repurpose them for travel and special events!
NOW AVAILABLE: Organizational consulting for theaters, museums, zoos, community centers, and other venues to support true inclusion, accessibility, and touch even more lives.
“We just don’t go anywhere anymore…”
That’s a statement I’ve heard from so many parents. I get it, it’s not easy to travel or do things outside the typical daily routine with kiddos who rely on that structure. New environments and situations are especially challenging for kids with sensory processing differences – especially larger trips or events.
While school-based OTs focus on the academic environment, and insurance-based outpatient clinics focus on daily routines, my focus is on those memory-making moments: family events, day trips, and vacations. Through tools and strategies for your whole family, my goal is to empower you, your child, and your family to enjoy special experiences together. Whether your child has been diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder, you suspect sensory processing issues exist, and/or your child has another diagnosis which typically has sensory components (Autism, ADHD, a history of trauma), I’m here to help.
